BC Golf Changes
British Columbia Golf (BCG) is pleased to announce the hiring of Christopher McGrath as its Manager of Communications and Marketing.
Christopher begins his tenure at BCG with the intention of bolstering our already committed marketing campaign that speaks to the British Columbia golfer.
Christopher will be the media, communications and marketing contact for all BCG matters.
Christopher recently graduated with a Masters in Sport Commerce from the University of Memphis (Memphis, Tennessee) where he enjoyed great academic success.
While in Memphis, Christopher volunteered with the First Tee of Memphis, the Universities Athletic Programs and assisted his advisor in a joint research study between the University of Memphis and USA Swimming.
Christopher was the Vice-President for the Universities Sport Marketing Association and represented his University on two Case Competition teams that were selected to compete against other student groups at countrywide sport business conferences.
Christopher, an original native of Whitby, Ontario, stated his excitement about moving west to join the BCG.“I am thoroughly excited to get started with British Columbia Golf. I have always known that I wanted to work in the golf business and the opportunity that the BCG has provided me will allow me to reach my goals while bettering this great organization”, noted Christopher.
Kris Jonasson, Executive Director of BCG, shared that feeling of excitement. “We are very pleased to have him on board. Christopher shares our passion for amateur golf and we are looking forward to working with him to further progress British Columbia Golf as a leader in our industry”.
Prior to pursuing his Masters, Christopher worked at the Golf Association of Ontario (GAO) in various capacities, which included Marketing and Communications, Tournament Execution and Player Development as well as for
The Aspire Group in Leicester, UK as a Market Researcher.
He also holds an Honours Degree in Sport Management from Brock University.
