The end of the 2018 season marked a time in history as two teams in the National League (NL) were tied on the last day of the regular season.

The American League (AL) leaders all won division games as well as the National League (NL) East, but the Central and West Divisions extended their season to a one game playoff in which to decide the overall title.

The 2018 Major League Baseball season saw three (3) teams in the AL win 100 or better, while Boston had a record of 108-54 in the East.

Houston, the defending World Series Champions won 103 games while the Wild Card NY Yankees won 100 good for a wild postseason entry.

Boston won the American League East Division Title with a record of 108-54, while Central Division Cleveland Indians were 91-71 and the West Division Champion Houston Astros set the second best record of 103-59 in the majors.

The National League Atlanta Braves won the East (90-72) but the surprise came in the Central and the West Divisions that ended the season with a one game playoff deciding the title.

This is the first time dating back to the 2012 season with Milwaukee Brewers and the Cubs in the Central, while both Los Angeles and Colorado were in the west.

The one game playoff deciding the Central Division Chicago Cubs tangled with Milwaukee in the West Division that saw the Brewers come out on top with a 3-1 win with a record 96-67 over the Cubs 95-68 that saw the Cubs advance to the wild card game.

The West Division Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies were tied with a 92-71 record that saw the one playoff saw the Dodgers pull off a 5-2 taking the West title.

This advance them in post-season play as the Rockies finished with a 91-71 record that saw them play the Cubs in the wild card game.

The Wild Card game saw Colorado edge the Cubs 2-1 that went to 13 innings advancing to the Divisional playoffs.

The other match-up saw had the Yankees defeat Oakland by a margin of 7-2 advancing in the AL Wild Card game and the Divisional playoffs.

The match-ups are set for the AL Division Series and the NL Division Series has the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Colorado Rockies.

The other series for the playoffs has the Los Angeles Dodgers square off against the Atlanta Braves.

The American League match-ups for the Division has the NY Yankees play the Boston Red Sox, with the other series has the Cleveland Indians take on the Houston in the Division.
