No matter what your summer sport might be, there is one thing for certain and that’s the fact that the Toronto Blue Jay’s Single A Club the Vancouver Canadians play entertaining ball.
We see players come to Vancouver to play and some are unable to speak any English, but by the end of the season’s end we see all the players standing at home plate singing Canada’s Anthem.
Fitting end to the end of the season when the players have spend countless hours together not only playing ball, but learning their trade under the watchful eye of John Schneider.
He returned this year and earlier we (Carl and I) had a chance to get an interview with him, which can be seen on YouTube’s SportswaveTV Channel.
As the season comes to a close it’s great to cover this team and we at Sportswave want to personally give a “shout-out” to Play by Play Broadcaster Rob Fai for his assistance all season.
His staff in the broadcast department as well as the office staff do an exceptional job each game keeping this team in the lime-light for baseball fans around the area.
This is the final press release I received earlier from Rob on the final game of this 2015 Single A Season.

The Vancouver Canadians went out on a high note as they concluded the Northwest League season with a 11-0 victory over the Everett AquaSox, completing a series sweep in front of a sold out crowd at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium.
The sellout was Vancouver’s 22nd of the summer and the franchise announced a new Short-Season attendance record of 215,535 fans.
A trio of home runs powered the Canadians offense while six Vancouver pitchers combined to shut out Everett for the second straight game. The AquaSox last scored a run in the 3rd inning on Friday night as the Canadians defense kept them off the board for 24 consecutive innings.
Vancouver DH Connor Panas opened the scoring early with a solo blast in the bottom of the 1st, his fourth home run of the season.
A pitcher’s duel ensued until the bottom of the 4th when C Josh Reavis hit a lead-off double to spark a five-run inning for the Canadians that featured a three-run homer from 2B Ryan Metzler and an RBI single from 1B Juan Kelly.
Vancouver added a pair of runs in the 6th as Panas came home on ground out by Kelly and LF Rodrigo Orozco doubled in RF Sean Hurley.
A three-run blast by 3B Gabriel Cenas capped the game off in the 8th, giving the Canadians 11 runs on seven hits.
On the mound, RHP Ryan Cook threw three scoreless innings of relief to pick up his first win as a Canadian. AquaSox starter RHP Jose Santiago gave up six earned runs in 3.2 innings of work and was charged with the loss.
With the victory, the Canadians finished the 2015 season with a 34-42 record — 18-20 in the second half — while the loss dropped the AquaSox to 42-34 on the season and 20-18 in the second half.
Everett will face the Tri-City Dust Devils in the North Division playoff series beginning tomorrow.
