In a game that features nothing on the line for the Canucks, it’s like a breath of fresh air in the building, given the change that shocked the Canucks World a short two day’s ago.

Following the chant in the last game and the fact that the Canucks are on a push for season ticket’s and fighting to keep or retain fans in the area, it’s not a shock to some that Mike Gillis was removed.

Not only was he removed quick and swift, he was replaced by the one that came to town when he was a young 18 years young after being drafted by the Canucks and Pat Quinn.

The Av’s come to town and are one win away a franchise record of wins in a season, so given this there might just be added pressure on the Canucks.

This is the final time this season that both clubs will play at Rogers Arena and with this comes the addition of the playing of new goaltender Jacob Markstrom, who has a Gold Medal under his belt for winning in Sweden last year.

The Canucks were officially eliminated from post season play and this time of the year it’s about playing for the team, the fans and each other as some might be fighting for contracts.

As we enter this game Ryan Kesler is tied at 25th for the most game-winning goals tying his best season with seven during the 2010-11 season.

The most recent (on the ice) see’s the return of Frank Corrado who was called up from Utica Comets and welcomes his time here as he is treating this as a learning curve.

While the season is coming to a quick end for the Canucks we can look ahead for the next few years in hopes of a better brand of hockey which will be more entertaining that what we have be privy to this season.

Some are still asking if Tortorella will return, but that is yet to be determined by ownership and of course – Trevor.

Referring to former Captain Trevor Linden he played 19 seasons in the NHL spending  16 of those with the Canucks, seven of those as the Captain.

He retired on the anniversary of his draft day, he was the Canucks all-time leader in games played with 1,140 and had 415 assists, second in goals with 318.

His record for playoff in 118 games with 34 goals, 61 assists and 95 total points in the playoffs still remains a record to this day.

Sunday’s final home game will see the official retirement of Pat Quinn who has numerous titles listed beside his name, beside being the one that can take the credit for bringing Trevor Linden to town.

For the Canucks that was a special day that is forever etched in the minds of Canuck fans, former players as well as players in the NHLPA, who he worked so close with.

Welcome home Trevor, the fans are in for a treat in the seasons to come!!
