The BC Lions made it official and announced the signing of defensive backs Paul Stephens and John Hardy-Taliau as well as defensive lineman Jarrell Root.
Root joins the Leos after signing with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent in 2012.
He enjoyed a successful college career with Boise State, recording 11 tackles for a loss and seven career sacks over his four-year stint with the Broncos.
Hardy-Tuliau brings a level of versatility to the defense, having played both nickel and strong safety during his college career with Hawaii where he notched 15 tackles for a loss over and six interception over his three-year run.
Stephens also brings versatility to the Lions on both sides of the ball, playing two seasons in the AFL with the Spokane Shock as a receiver and defender. He set a league record in 2013 with five interceptions in one game.
