Attending any game given the state of the world is not only a relief but a privilege to be able to promote the local Vancouver Canucks during this COVID-19 outbreak despite the numerous naysayers.

After arriving at Rogers Arena we were informed that the scheduled game between the Vancouver Canucks and the visiting Calgary Flames scheduled to be played at Rogers Arena was postponed.

It’s reported that two Vancouver Canuck players as well as a member of their Coaching staff are currently in NHL COVID-19 protocol and at press time no rescheduled date has yet to be announced.

At the morning skate Vancouver coach Travis Green said “I guess there’s always reminders as far as the importance of your safety, and following the guidelines and the rules that the League has set forth,”. “And not just the League, but the government.”

Canucks forward Adam Gaudette was added to the protocol list early Tuesday after what Coach Travis Green mentioned was a positive test for the virus.

In addition it was noted that Jake Virtanen did not practice because of an illness that was mentioned to the team.

Vancouver’s last game was March 24th that saw them drop a 5-1 loss to the Jets after being shut out by the same Jet’s 4-0 two days prior.

NO GAME!!!!!

Travis Green told the media “We’ve had six days off prepping for a game here and we’ve tried to just stay focused on that task, and let the people in charge that advise us on the protocols let us know if there’s anything else changing.”

Both D-man Jordie Benn and J.T. Miller (forward) were sidelined at the start of the season due to COVID-19 protocol that saw Benn miss six games while Miller missed only three all of which were significant.

This is the fifth game in the Scotia North Division to be postponed this season all coming after March 22.

The Montreal Canadiens had four home games postponed ranging from March 22nd-28th due to COVID-19 protocol.

To date 47 games have been postponed since the start of the NHL season which began Jan. 13th which have included 42 because of protocol and only five have been postponed due to weather-related issues.

Patience is a virtue, so as Dr. Bonnie Henry says “Be Kind, Be Calm and Be Safe” and from my desk to you above all remember “Understanding is Believing.”
