Sports team continue to make changes in the offseason in hopes of putting a more successful product on the field/floor and/or rink.

We are hearing that the Vancouver Stealth made it official and introduced Tewanee Joseph has been named Executive Vice President for Partnerships and Business Development for the Vancouver Stealth.

He (Joseph) has served as the Senior First Nations Development Advisor for the Stealth since 2014 and will continue to be extremely pro-active in his role.

He has served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Four Host Nations Secretariat for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games that saw him negotiate the first partnership agreement between indigenous peoples, the International Olympic Committee and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games (VANOC).

His extensive and passionate experience in sports includes the 2011 Rugby World Cup held in New Zealand, the 2015 Canada Winter Games, Toronto 2015 Pan American Games as well as the 2016 Canada Rugby 7s held in Vancouver.

Joseph is also a Nike N7 champion and served on the Board of Directors for 5 years.

Doug Locker, President and GM of the Stealth mentioned “We are very fortunate to have Tewanee take on additional responsibilities within our organization and look forward to having him fully integrated in all aspects of our business in addition to Tewanee having a wealth of knowledge and understanding about the game.

One of his roles will be attracting new corporate partners, and organizations to the Stealth organization.

He mentioned “I am honored to be a part of such an incredible organization and one that is committed to our community, our families and to the fasted game on two feet.”

He continued “I am looking forward to growing the sport and inviting all British Columbians to be a part of our Stealth family.”

During his free time he (Tewanee) played lacrosse at the Senior “A” and “B” levels’ of the game and managed to win the President’s Cup (twice) in addition to winning two men’s field lacrosse championships.

He also played for the Iroquois Nationals team and presently coaches the game he so dearly loves in North Vancouver.

One of his many highlights included playing with the Iroquois Nationals at the 1994 Commonwealth Games held in Victoria, where lacrosse was showcased as an official demonstration sport.
