Provincial Conference

We (Bruce Nolte and I) were invited to the 2015 Football BC Provincial Conference held at Holy Cross Regional High School and to say the least the day was full of information and learning.

It also provided “ton’s” of highlights, training opportunities and hands-on for the coaching community throughout BC.

Technical Director Dino Geremia for Football BC provided his wrap-up on the sixth (6th) annual event below and if this was any indication of professionalism, wait till next years Provincial Conference.

The Conference featured a Safe Contact clinic that help coaches to better understand the serious issues playing any sport as well it supplied the coaches to several  outstanding speakers throughout the day.

They are extremely knowledgeable with talent, but skill in assessing different aspects of the game, that others fail to notice.

Newly appointed UBC Head Coach Blake Nill scored a “TD” by kicking things off on Friday evening with a passionate presentation on practicing at a high level and getting the most out of your practice.

The 2015 Football BC Provincial Conference provided plenty of highlights and training opportunities for the coaching community in BC.

The 2015 Football BC Provincial Conference and Safe Contact clinic treated coaches to outstanding speakers who shared their knowledge and football insight.

New UBC head coach Blake Nill kicked off the Conference on Friday evening with a passionate presentation on practicing at a high level, while achieving success at your practice.

Saturday saw the morning kick-off with a presentation by Rob Williams of SportCore Performance.

He has been a consultant for Professional and Amateur Athlete’s for over two decades, with teams in the NFL, CFL and the NCAA.

He has the ability to improve their performance through quality movement and intelligent conditioning.

It is interesting that his Sportscore system focuses on addressing the missing dimension between the field and technical coaching.

Following a brief coffee (needed by yours truly) it was interesting to listen to JC Boice who is in his first year as Head Coach of Westshore Rebels.

He is best known for his work with the USA-based National Football Academies and is a certified Level C4 Coach.

This allows him to specialize in the position of Quarterback for over two decades and recently served on the coaching staff for Football BC’s Senior Bowl Camp.

For those living in Delta it was interesting to ask him questions about Ray Moon from South Delta Sun Devils.

Thank you to all the presenters for taking their time and helping us grow our game at the grassroots level. –

A special “thank you” also goes out to Giulio Caravatta, who conducted the Q&A with Zeke Sandhu.

The staff of Holy Cross Regional High School deserves a “thank you” as do all the players who participated in the Safe Contact practice.

In conversation with some, they had mentioned it would be great if it coincided with the Orange Helmet Awards.

Obviously the Executive were listening as it was mentioned that next year’s Conference will coincide with the Orange Helmet Awards.

So, when the date is released mark it on your calendar and plan on attending this exception Conference hosted by Football BC.

Thanks to Football BC for the invite!!

thanks
