Football

You either like him or hate him, but regardless – he can play the game, maybe on the field, but his off field antics are unprofessional.

In more ways than one, but mostly it’s sheer disrespect to the NFL and his Seattle Seahawks team and fellow players.

He probably thinks he is “cool” but in reality, he’s a joke to what the league represents, especially given the amount of money he is paid.

He signed a 4 year / $30,000,000 contract with the Seahawks that included a $6,000,000 signing bonus of which $17,000,000 was guaranteed money and an annual average salary of $7,500,000.

If he worked in the real world, he would be docked for being insubordinate and disrespectful and in all honesty, would you like to work with a guy like this.

Marshawn Lynch while he seldom talks and gives one word answer, probably cause he can’t put two syllables together, turned the tables on the critics and the media.

After two days of giving (only) scripted comments, this time the Seahawk’s RB gave the most extensive comments of  the Super Bowl week, and mostly told the reporters why he won’t talk to them.

Lynch stated “I don’t know what story y’all trying to get out of me. I don’t know what image y’all trying to portray of me, but it don’t matter what y’all think, what y’all say about me because when I go home at night, the same people that I look in the face — my Family that I love, that’s all that really matter to me. So y’all can go make up whatever y’all want to make up because I don’t say enough for y’all to go and put anything out on me.”

When Lynch arrived at the podium, a man with a reporter’s credential who said he was a teacher asked him to give his students a “shout-out.”

To the surprise on no one, he was still as self centered as ever and slowly began his unscripted statement.

He continued “Y’all shove cameras and microphones down my throat, but when I’m at home in my environment, I don’t see y’all, but y’all mad at me. And if you ain’t mad at me, then what y’all here for? I ain’t got nothing for y’all, though. I told y’all that.”

“I’m here preparing for a game. And y’all want to ask me these questions, which is understandable. I could get down with that. But I told y’all. I’m not about to say nothing. … All of my requirements are fulfilled.”

Lynch praised his teammates, his hometown of Oakland, California, and his Family First Foundation. When asked who the best player on the Seahawks was, he said: “All of them.”

As he has all week, Lynch stayed five minutes before leaving.

At Media Day on Tuesday, Lynch repeated: “I’m just here so I don’t get fined” while talking to reporters.

For someone that attended the University of California and played for the California Golden Bears team, not to mention he majored in social welfare and while there his nicknamed was “Money”.beastmode

Yet another fine example of how we want the next generation to go through life – being self centered and caring about no one except himself regardless of what you hear!!

Ever wonder what he might do if he wasn’t playing football?

My only comment is – be thankful that not all pro athletes act this childish.
