The road to the 2015 Subway Bowl for saw the semi-finals take place November 28th at BC Place Stadium with four (4) games with the tier two title on the line and the winners advancing to the Subway Championship December 6th.
The early game saw the Tier 2 title decided as Earl Marriott Mariners scored 32 straight points on the way to a 40-14 win over the Howe Sound Sounders.
The AA senior semi-finals saw the Carson Graham Eagles soar to a thrilling 24-21 victory over the defending champions GW Graham.
Abbotsford Panthers knocked off the Langley Saints 50-29 setting up what should be an exciting game between the Eagles and the Panthers under the dome.
The AAA senior match-ups had Mount Douglas Rams advance to their fifth (5th) straight championship game with a dismantling of the number #1 rated Terry Fox team 53-20.
They now face the Vancouver College Fighting Irish as they defeated the New Westminster Hyacks 28-12 setting up the title match Saturday.
All games are set for the 2015 Subway Bowl starting with the grade 8 championship as Vancouver College and Seaquam Seahawks kick-off at 9am.
This will be followed by the AA Junior varsity game as Windsor will face the Mission Road Runners.
The 1:30 game will see the Mt. Douglas Rams square off against the New Westminster Hyacks in the AAA junior varsity game.
The senior match-up has the AA game that see’s Carson Graham tackle Abbotsford at 4pm, while the feature game in the Senior AAA has Mt. Douglas Rams kick-off against Vancouver College.
This (Senior AAA) will their first appearance in the title game other than 2010 with the kick-off set for 7 pm sharp.
This game will see the Rams in search of their fourth title in five years in the Subway Bowl hosted at BC Place.
This past week saw the 14th annual Subway Bowl Awards banquet held at the Italian Culture Centre in Vancouver.
The night of awards were in recognition of the top Provincial players in addition to the all-star teams selection, plus several scholarships were awarded to the outstanding players for the 2015 season.
The AA Player Awards were awarded in three (3) categories
  • Player of the Year Chase Claypool of Abbotsford
  • Offensive player Patrick Shoemay from Holy Cross
  • Defensive player was Cory Fletcher from John Barsby
In the AAA categories Gavin Cobb of Mount Douglas received his award as player of the year the Offensive player of the year.
went to Parker Simson from Kelowna and the defensive player went to Chris Ellis of Vancouver College also the all-stars on offence and defense received the plaques with the honors as well for outstanding seasons.
Scholarships awarded on the evening to outstanding players saw Regan Oey receive the Subway Academic Player of the year.
Other winners were:

  • Big Kahuna Chris Ellis from Vancouver College
  • Infigo Imaging scholarship Sean Tweed from Carson Graham
  • TSN 1040 Nadim Sayani from Handsworth Secondary
  • Baron Rings  Justice Kremler from Mount Douglas
A great night of recognition for the players in BC High School football and many thanks to Lui Garcia and Football BC for allowing us to attend on their annual awards night.
It is an honor for Sportswave to be involved with these great kids as they move on in their careers.
