In keeping with the press release from the Harry Jerome Track Classic that was sent out by Doug Clement it’s important to follow up with the remainder of the press release.
Locally in the Delta area I am seeing many individuals young and old alike on the track at Seaquam Secondary as well as the one at Delta Secondary School and we can only hope that the weather and Covid help out.

“It is a special honour every time I pull on the Team Canada singlet and I do not take it lightly. One day I will look back and realize just how fortunate I was to be able to do it time and time again,” said Brown. “My aim is always to try to make the country look good and to represent the Maple Leaf in the best light. In Poland, I get the chance to team up with three other people to combine our strengths for the common goal of success for our country, and that feeling is infections when it pans out. I will be running with guys that I have known for years and I am used to going against, so a chance to team up for Canada is always fun.”
As a veteran on the women’s 4×400-metre relay team, Watson echoed Brown’s comments regarding representing Canada on the world stage. “It is an amazing honour each time I get to put on that uniform. I am just grateful to be part of this amazing team and it is exciting that we have this opportunity to come together before the Olympics to compete on the global stage with each other.”
When asked what he is looking forward to the most at World Relays, Gilbert said “seeing athletes back on the track performing, coaches getting the opportunity to be trackside with their athletes and seeing our group get excited about the sport again.
Track and field has taken a hit during the pandemic, and now people are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am really looking forward to being trackside once again and to watching our team perform at the highest level.”
