Short Track

The Short Track National Team Selections are the last annual competitions that complete the Canadian senior rankings.

Entry to the 2014 Canadian Open National Team Selections #2 is done through the following priorities up to a maximum number of entries (see below):

  1. All skaters (SENIOR and JUNIOR) who qualified for the National Team Selections #1 competition
  2. All SENIOR aged skaters who qualified for the Canadian Open National Qualifier
  3. SENIOR athletes are eligible for remaining positions on the basis of meeting the time standard stated below based on their combined 500m + 1500m times as recorded from August 1st to December 15th, 2013 in a SSC sanctioned competition with electronic timing. Please note in special circumstances manual times will be accepted (adjusted upwards by 0.2).

speed skateThe distances are the same as the Canadian Open Championship, being the 500 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, 3000 m and a demonstration relay for both women and men.

The top 24 skaters from the overall results of the Canadian Open Championships, excluding the five athletes selected to represent Canada at the world championships, are automatically eligible to compete in National Team Selections.
