It’s always great when we can promote officiating for various sports and now we are getting information the Officials Development Committee has reviewed the selection of officials for this season’s competitions for Speed-skating and the subsequent competitions that were allocated to the following officials.

Officials are encouraged to volunteer at competitions that they have not been assigned to. Assignments are contingent based on the following:

  1. Assignments are subject to change awaiting confirmations. Identify any conflicts to BCSSA ODC ASAP so we can assign alternates.
  2. All assigned officials must be BCSSA and SSC members in good standing.

Our funding is very tight this year and we are asking for everyone’s cooperation in finding ways to preserve funds.

When making your travel arrangements, please try to book a seat sale and/or the best fare available.

ODC will cover travel (the cheaper of flights (booked no later than 14 days out) or mileage) and per diem for assigned officials. It is the responsibility of the host organizing committee to cover accommodation for assigned officials.

Please note: the online (chief) Referee Report must also be done before any receipts will be paid out.

Please go to the SSC website to download your PDF copy of the revised rules (Red Book).

The ISU Red Book is now online as a downloadable PDF (no charge) on the ISU website an you are encouraged to visit the BCSSA website for rule updates, official’s reports and the Competition Bulletins.

Please contact BCSSA ODC if you need clarification. ODC would like to take this opportunity to thank all our officials for their time and dedication to the sport, without which, our athletes would not have the opportunity to improve as they strive to be the best they can be.

ODC wishes to thank all our senior officials for the continued mentor-ship and support shown to our new officials.
