Most were up early to catch a glimpse of the Championship game in the World Cup, with record numbers cheering on the team of their choice or country.

After the impressive victory or comeback by France they celebrated in a manner any championship team would do, but it wasn’t over quite yet.

Huge crowds formed and many in Paris and surrounding area all began to converge on the famed Champs-Elysees, which is known as the gathering point for all National celebrations.

The World Cup Championship winning team returned home to a heroes’ welcome while they were parading down the Champs-Elysees with hundreds of thousands of cheering fans.

Many thought that Croatia would pull off the victory, but it wasn’t to happen as the end result saw France pull out an impressive 4-2 victory.

No one can count out today’s youth and in this game it was 19 year-old Kylian Mbappe who marked his place in history with a remarkable game playing against others much older than him.

It’s reported that the famed Eiffel Tower as well as the Arc de Triomphe were lit up in the  National colours of blue, white and red.

Huge crowds started to converge in the early hours on Monday morning on the Champs-Elysees, which is the gathering point for all national celebrations, to catch a glimpse of a returning squad which has captured the country’s imagination.

As the celebrating players descended on an open-air bus under heavy police guard — some of the 2,000 officers deployed in the capital — nine jets from the Patrouille de France, the air force’s acrobatic unit, did an honorary flyover trailing blue, white and red smoke.

Following the ‘party on the Champs-Elysees” the players changed into custom-made blue suits before being welcomed at the Elysee Palace by President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

Macron has already promised the Legion of Honour for the victors’ “exceptional services” to the country, an award already given to the legendary team which won France’s first World Cup title in 1998.

Nearly 3,000 guests were invited to the reception in the Elysee gardens, which included 1,000 youngsters from local football clubs in the surrounding area.

Party central began after the banquet that saw everyone treated to the beats of DJ Snake, who has worked with pop stars including Lady Gaga.

Some analysts believe the 40-year-old centrist will benefit from the feelgood factor sweeping France, with Macron able to show a common touch after months of criticism from his opponents that he is distant and elitist.
