For the second year in a row, Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Montreal, QC has beaten her chief rival, American Hannah Kearney, on the Calgary course of the World Cup mogul circuit to take the top position.
In third spot was Chloé Dufour-Lapointe Montreal, QC). In 4th spot was Andi Naude (Penticton, B.C.) and in 5th position was Maxime Dufour-Lapointe (Montreal, QC).
“Both Hannah and I skied well today,” said Justine “but the judges decided I was a bit better. I feel like this is a genuine victory. I love skiing in my own country in front of a home-town crowd. It gives me energy and I love being on the podium with my sister.”
“It was a combination of so many things that came together today for Justine,” said coach Jean-Paul Richard. “Justine reached into her abilities and today showed how she is transforming herself from raw talent into a complete skier.”
Placing four out of the top six skiers in today’s Super final was a triumph for coaches JP Richard and Marc-André Moreau.
“Definitely, the best day at the office we’ve had since starting the job three years ago,” said Moreau.
“We were honest with the girls at the top. We told them they had to ski faster, needed bigger jumps, and more technical turns.
And they just did it.”
In Men’s Action, Mikaël Kingsbury narrowly beat teammate Alex Bilodeau to take home the Gold Medal.
“I’m really proud of this victory, said Kingsbury who hails from Lake of Two Mountains, Quebec because the level here is super strong, and there is no room for error. I gave it everything to try to beat Alex and this was definitely my best ever run down the Calgary course.”
“It’s a great battle,” said coach Rob Kober. “An amazing game of one-upmanship on a tough course, where any mistake is
costly.
Compare the times today to last year, and what those guys did was more aggressive and incredible.”

Continuing a tradition started in 2012, Winsport Canada presented all Canadian athletes who made the podium in today’s Moguls and yesterday’s Halfpipe events with a $5000 Sarah Burke Performance Award.
