Bruce Robinson Get’s The Nod!

Bruce Robinson has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association effective March 1, 2014.

A native of Toronto, ON and now living in Vancouver, BC Robinson has a long history with the CFSA –serving most recently as its Chief Operating Officer.

“Bruce’s knowledge of the organization and passion for our sport, were big reasons for choosing him to lead the CFSA,” said CFSA Board of Directors Chair, Jim Francis. “In particular his commitment to our grassroots sport development, which is critical to Canada continuing to excel at the elite, international level.”

Robinson has worked in various positions in almost twenty years with the CFSA including High Performance Program Director and Technical Director positions. He also spent several years in the video and television production industry.

“Obviously I’m thrilled,” said Robinson, “this is a great organization that has enjoyed tremendous success athletically. The team is poised to do some great things again at the Sochi Olympic Games and the High Performance Program will continue to be a top priority for the CFSA.

Our goal will continue to be to develop Olympic and World Champions through a seamless and evolving athlete development system – I am really looking forward to working with our athletes and their families, our coaches, staff and officials, provincial and club organizations and, not least, our sponsors and government funding partners to make this all happen.”

The Canadian Halfpipe and Mogul teams return to competition on January 3 and 4 at a FIS World Cup event at Winsport’s Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, AB.

The Aerials team’s next competition is on January 10 in Deer Valley, UT while the Slopestyle team will be in Northstar, CA also on January 10.

The 2014 Winter Olympic Games begin on February 7 in Sochi, Russia.
