Richmond Ringette Association Unveils New Name and Brand

Being involved in various sports even with the connection of my Family it’s interesting to know that while the Richmond Ringette is played at six-rinks both my Daughter coached the sport and my Granddaughter, Stephanie played goal for the Association.

Now I come across the following release from the Richmond Ringette Association who are announcing that they have entered into the next chapter of their Association.

We were sent the information on the new Association and the organization who are officially rebranding as the Richmond Ringette Riptide which was approved by both the Board of Directors and RRA Members at the Annual General Meeting May 5, 2025.

Enjoy the read from the Richmond Ringette:

The rebrand reflects a renewed energy and long-term vision for RRA. It includes a fresh name -Riptide – and a new visual identity that honours

Richmond’s island geography and natural surroundings noting that the updated logo features a powerful tidal wave, symbolizing the dynamic meeting of the Fraser River and the Strait of Georgia, while nodding to the strength and movement of the sport.

The design process was led by the RRA Jersey Committee, made up of Jackie Gloria, Joel Jaffe, Colin Naylor and James Snowdon who together developed a new and unique concept, designed by graphic artist,

Warren Neily, that stays true to RRA’s roots, retaining the traditional navy and light blue colours while adding grey as a modern accent.

Alongside the rebrand, RRA unveiled new home and away uniforms that will debut for the 2025-26 season.

Designed by Burnaby-based manufacturer LAGA Sports, the uniforms include alternating navy and white jerseys, navy pants, and a Canadian Maple Leaf proudly displayed on both shoulders.

Tannis Tapley, President of Richmond Riptide.“This rebrand is about more than just a new name and look; it reflects the direction we’re moving in as a sport and within our community.”

She continued saying “We’re building on our history and setting the stage for the continued growth of ringette in Richmond.”
