As with any sports team or club it’s essential to start with the preverbal training camp, which some players like and others dislike.

Like them or not, they are essential to any teams success as they set the ground rules for the upcoming season.

rush-vs-stealthFailing to follow or comply with training camp rules or regulations can and will be the overall demise for any future success for the season.

Players attend conditioning camps, hire professional trainers while others simply work out on their own, which may or may not work.

The upcoming NLL season is set to kick-off with the closest team in our area being the Vancouver Stealth, having a vast array of local talent on the club.

One such player is Delta minor lacrosse product Logan Schuss, who in the off-season is the Assistant Coach for the Delta Islanders in the BC Junior a Lacrosse League.

Trades (some) have come and gone so the Stealth made it official and announced that they will hold their camp from November 19th to December 31st.

Camp begins with two-a-day sessions at the Fieldhouse at the Langley Events Centre and are open and free to the public.

The 40-member team will be privy to sessions running from 9 am to 11 am with the evening sessions running from 6 to 8 pm.

Sunday’s schedule see’s them hit the “turf” at 9 and finish the morning session at 11 AM.nll-logo

They are planning on repeating this on the first two weekends in December which are the 3rd – 4th followed by the 10th and 11th.

The coaching staff will reduce the roster to 20 active players on the active roster and 4 on the team’s practice roster on December 15th.

December 18th will see them conduct team practice from 9 – 11 AM, with them concluding the pre-season sessions December 30-31st, with the time pending.

Head Coach Jamie Batley mentions “We are looking forward to a fast-paced highly competitive camp where we will be evaluating every position and the team will play an extremely up tempo style and we need to identify players who can play at that pace.”

They are hosting two pre-season scrimmages, which include games against the Calgary Roughnecks December 3, 2016 (7:00 pm) and against the NLL Champions Saskatchewan Rush at 9:00 am December 4.

They are also hosting what they call two Stealth “friendlies” which will be held at the Langley Events Centre.

These “friendlies” will play host to two other scrimmages over the same weekend with Saskatchewan taking on Colorado and the Roughnecks competing against the Mammoth.
