Canucks Pre-Season

This game is the first game since the Canucks spanked the Ducks 3-0 on March 6th which gave them a regular season record of 2-2-0 and outscored the Ducks 14-12.

The Canucks prospects played in Penticton at the South Okanagan Events Center against Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and San Jose.

Schneider gets the start for Vancouver while Hiller gets the call for the Ducks. Most teams this time of the year play the youth, but tonight the Ducks dress all the key players.

The Canucks did not dress Luongo giving Schneider and Lack another chance to display the talent that got them to this level.

The Canucks and Flames split the squad and played a game on the same night, winning in Vancouver and dropping the game in Alberta.

In conversation with some of the Canucks, training camp was what they expected and everyone looks forward to getting on with the regular season now.

The Canucks have four more pre-season games, two at home and two on the road. The final exhibition game is at home October 1st against Edmonton.

The new look curved glass at the players bench is well received by everyone. Players, officials and owners love it and it’s sad that it took an injury to change it.

The Canucks have signed Defenceman Frank Corrado (18) who averaged 20:46 ice time per game, blocked four shots and was +1 through two Pre-Season games.

Corrado is from Woodbridge, Ontario and played last season with the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL, managing 30 points (4-26-67) in 67 games.

He is 6’0”, 188-pound and was selected by the Canucks in the fifth round, 150th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
