The Canadian Figure Skating Team was officially announced Sunday and Canada will see 17 members on the team that will be heading to the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.
In addition there will be 10 Coaches that will be heading to South Korea that will see the games officially kick-off February 9th and will conclude February 25th.
They were kept in suspense until the committee made it official when announced Sunday January 14th (11 am) at the UBC Alumni Hall.
The results are all based overall performance during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, which also included the results at the recently completed Canadian National Skating Championships at the Doug Mitchell Sports Centre.
The following skaters will comprise the team that are prepared for the journey of a life-time for the PyeongChang Olympic Games.
It should be noted that the 2018 team have accumulated eight world titles, with Chan, Virtue and Moir each winning three, while Duhamel and Radford have claimed a pair.
The Ice Dancers Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje have each won two world medals with Kaetlyn Osmond and Gabrielle Daleman being the first Canadian Women to share a World Championship podium grabbing Silver and a Bronze.
The team will be headed by Men’s Singles team members Patrick Chan 
(Toronto), Keegan Messing (Sherwood Park) and on the Women’s team with Gabrielle Daleman (Newmarket), Kaetlyn Osmond (Sherwood Park) and Coquitlam’s Larkyn Austman.
In the pairs, Canada will be represented by six (6) members and are Meagan Duhamel (Lively Ontario), Eric Radford (Balmertown), Julianne Seguin (Longueuil), Charlie Bilodeau ( St. Catherines), Kirsten Moore-Towers (St. Catharines) and Michael Marinaro from Sarnia.
In Ice Dance Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir captured their 8th Canadian titles
will headline the group along with Piper Gilles (Toronto) and Paul Poirier from Waterloo.
Rounding out the team heading to the Olympic Games in South Korea are Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje.
It was mentioned that prior to being named to Team Canada all of the nominations were subject to approval by the COC’s Team Selection Committee following the receipt of nominations by all National Sport Federations in late January 2018.
