While each sport or individual has it’s own thought on the issue of kneeling and if it is indeed disrespectful or not, it seems that some in the hockey world will take a stance offering a different solution.
We are hearing that Pred’s PK Subban mentioned that he would never kneel during the anthem and offers a new and unique solution.
Rather than kneel during the Anthem PK Subban is hosting a new program called PK Blueline Buddies.
This will bring together a member of the Metro Nashville Police Department and their guest with a mentor or a representative from a local organization and an underprivileged youth.
He (PK) will take care of the game tickets, dinner and will also meet with the group before and after the game in hopes of allowing them to forget about outside problems.
Subban mentioned that he “thinks it’s important for athletes to set a tone in a way that we’re looking to build bridges that also doesn’t take away from anybody’s right to do what they want or how they act as an American citizen.
Prior to the start of the Predators game against Dallas at Bridgestone Arena, four guests served as Subban’s Blueline Buddies.
Metro Nashville Police officer Clint Gilleland and Son, (Wyatt) and Nashville Inner City Ministry mentor Robby Thompson and Dekaylin Hayes had the opportunity to meet Subban prior to the game and after the game.
He (Subban) spoke with everyone, took photos or selfies as well as signed autographs for his guests, while leaving an impression that left Thompson and Officer Gilleland thoroughly impressed.
Thompson told the media when asked “It’s not just people doing this, doing that, [Subban] stepped up and said it was something he wanted to do, and that speaks a lot about his character and to take time away from his pregame routine to meet us, it’s pretty amazing.”
He mentioned that the law enforcement leave their house and may not return at the end of the night and that’s the job.

PK set’s a true example for all athletes how to conduct themselves, so in addition to this program let’s not forget that he also donated $10 million to a Montreal Children’s Hospital.
So giving is far better and will make the world a better place for everyone.
PK Subban should be commended for his example, so from this stance what will be the next step for the NFL?
