With Olympic level ball being played at Softball City in South Surrey, it’s interesting to know that Women’s ball just wrapped up south of the 49th in Bellingham.

The Bellingham Bells, in coordination with Baseball BC, Baseball Northwest, Cascade Crush, Langley Blaze Baseball Club, Northwest Elite Baseball and the Rijo Baseball Club announced a Future Series running from September 20-29th at Joe Martin Field.

The second annual Bellingham Bells Futures Series features local top (prep) level talented from the Pacific Northwest, which is free to players.

The Bellingham Bells and other participating organizations strongly believe in overall development of local players at the highest level giving back to the local baseball community.

While this news is positive to the organization we are hearing that Bob Miller who is in his second season is unable to return for the 2020 season.

He (Miller) the Head Coach at Cuesta College and a resident of Paso Robles is leaving the Bells to spend time with his family.

Miller joined the Bells in September 2017 and led the Bells to a 60-46 record over two seasons. Miller’s 2018 Bells won both the first and second half North Division championships and qualified for the WCL postseason.

In 2018 Bells were the winner of the Jim Dietz Sportsmanship Award voted on by all other teams in the league.

Bells’ GM Stephanie Morrell mentioned.“It has been a true pleasure to work with Coach Miller over the past two seasons,” “Bob is an experienced coach committed to developing young players, both on and off the field. He was a perfect fit for our organization and made many great contributions to our team in his two seasons here. We will certainly miss him and wish him nothing but the best.”

Jim Clenn Bells pitching coach/recruiting coordinator will continue as the recruiting & coaching efforts to identify potential head coaching candidates for the 2020 season.
