National Safe Driving Week

The Canada Safety Council said when it started its national safe driving campaign in 1956, the first week of December was the worst for impaired driving.

Marchand said thanks to their work and efforts of anti-impaired driving programs such as Operation Red Nose, that isn’t the case anymore. This obviously doesn’t mean accidents don’t still happen because, unfortunately, they do. If you’ve been in an accident then you might be unsure what legal action you can take to get compensation. If this is the case then take a look at the article on the Eskew Law website to find out more about when you should hire an attorney. Luckily, fewer people are needing to make this decision thanks to the campaign.

While awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence are widely known, there are still many people that use sites such as BlackBoxMyCar to purchase dash cams that can, in the event of an accident caused by DUI, provide evidence of dangerous driving. Still, he said the need for education remains when there are false perceptions about driving while under the influence of drugs.

Those who drive safely not only avoid causing collisions and harming themselves, they can also enjoy auto insurance discounts and perks. Each year insurance premiums will decrease if there haven’t been any claims for that car and it hasn’t been involved in any accidents. Therefore, it pays to drive safely.

“It has become more important to look at the population and tell them it’s not alright to do this. No, you’re not driving any better on drugs than you were on alcohol, it’s just as dangerous,” he said.

“Hopefully you’ll get caught before you kill somebody.” – if you need one reason not to despite the fact you shouldn’t want to harm another being accidentally anyway, think of your insurance if you’ve been found guilty of driving while under the influence, even the cheapest insurance would sky rocket.
