Delta Sport Council Hosts Luncheon

If you are old enough to remember Expo Ernie, the giant hockey stick and the cement highway and Expo 86, this event embraces all Canadians, but mostly those living in Delta and surrounding area, plus the visitors that are in town.

Recently I spoke with Gord Fraser (Coach of the National Cycling Team) at the Tour de Delta and he told me “If there is any way that we can help promote our Olympic Athletes it is extremely positive for everyone.

They have worked, trained and spent hours to reach this level of success and given selfish hours to put Canada on the map for all the world to see”.

The 2012 London Olympics will be under way in less than three weeks and all the “prep-time” hit the stage with a gala event hosted by the Delta Sport Council.

To recognize our Canadian Athletes, the Delta Sport Council are hosting a luncheon.

The event will be held at the Coast Hotel in Tsawwassen with the kick-off set for 11:00 am.

The event will be focused on that of a British Theme to not only pay tribute to the 2012 Olympic Games, but also to recognize the Diamond Jubilee.

The event will feature watching the Opening of the Games, plus cheering on our Olympians, enjoying British trivia, plus much more.

The Delta Sport Council has arranged a reasonably priced luncheon for everyone attending and the meal will be at Brown’s Social House in Tsw.

The Delta Sport Council have worked hard to make this a day you soon won’t forget; so round up Family and Friends to be a part of this amazing production.

This not only pay’s tribute to our Athlete’s, but show’s strong dedication by those living in Delta and elsewhere that as Canadians; we are indeed patriotic.

I for one can’t wait to watch and will like others be glued to the television set’s to enjoy every minute.

Mark the date on your calendar, and don’t miss out on a “memory of a life-time”!!!
