15 Gold – 4 silver- 6 Bronze

Another incredible day for BC Swimmers at the games as they continue to excel both in the pool and other events.

It was an incredible day for team BC swimmers and in particular for Special Olympics swimmer Jesse Shade.

Together the group hauled in 25 medals of which 15 were gold, four were silver and six were bronze.

Shade swam to two more Gold bringing his total to four (4) after he was the fastest in the 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle Special Olympics events.

Team BC swept the relay events for the second-straight night winning the men’s and women’s 4x100m freestyle relays.

Ian Ralston added to his medal tally with a gold in the 100m Para Butterfly while Aimee Brennan did her part winning gold in the same event for the women.

Molly Gowans and Colin Gilbert topped the podium in the women’s and men’s 400m freestyle, respectively.

Gilbert also earned gold in the 200m butterfly, while Jordyn Ryan won gold in the same event for the women.

The women’s 200m Medley relay team took home bronze in 1:52.26 thanks to the talents of Jessie Gibson, Hannah Esopenko, Mackenzie Padington and Wendy Yang. Yang also won gold in the 50m freestyle.
