7th ATP World Tour Title

Playing tennis requires talent, focus and determination all of which can and will take your match (game) to the highest level.

Milos Raonic (24) is no different, but this season has been one he would best be forgotten, in part due to the injuries that he has been plagued with.

The season has been full of tributes and tribulations for Milos, but he ended a 1-month drought winning his 7^th ATP World Tour title.

Both stars entered the match playing exceptional tennis, but in the end Milos defeated Joao Sousa 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 pulling off the impressive win.

This win see’s an outside chance where he could (possibly) grab one of the four remaining berths at the year-end Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

The win see’s him get an additional 250 points in the Emirates ATP race heading to London and see him pass Marin Cilic to 12^th position.

Milos recently took part in the ATP World Tour in St. Petersburg Russia where he defeated Roberto Bautista of Spain 6-2, 7-6 (7-2) in a semi-final game.

His other victories saw him defeat Evgeny Donskoy of Russia as well as Spain’s Tommy Robredo prior to meeting Bautista-Augut through in the semis.

As for tournament play both Raonic and Sousa has dropped a set in the tournament, which for some is surprising.

Raonic has six career ATP titles and is ranked ninth in the world even after he suffered back and foot injuries this year.

At the Monte Carlo Masters a foot injury forced Raonic out of the tournament while down 5-2 to Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

Apparently a doctor went to examine Raonic, but images (from the court) showed his right foot was strapped for support.

This appearance in an ATP World Tour marks his 15^th, dating back to January in Brisbane, but this time he is chasing his first ATP title since his win in the Washing ton Open dating back to August of 2014.

Raonic tends to like to play on hard courts and is coached by retired Croatian tennis player Ivan Ljubicic.

Raonic pulled off the win in a time of two hours and seven minutes, having struck 22 aces and saved nine of the 10 break points.
